Avo John Kambourian is an editor and assistant editor who blends creativity with process. He shapes stories across genres while keeping productions moving forward and is committed to shepherding a director’s vision while staying open to discovery.

He most recently edited Spilled Milk, a horror short produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and TIFF’s “No Drama” Initiative. Starring Scott Mescudi, Jerry O’Connell and J. Alphonse Nicholson, the film pushes genre boundaries while exploring cultural fears through surreal horror.

He also served as apprentice editor on The Lost Bus, a TIFF feature directed by Paul Greengrass for AppleTV+ and Blumhouse. Based on true events from the California Camp Fire and starring Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera. The film demanded both technical precision and sensitivity in its retelling of a harrowing story of survival.

Previously, Avo served as assistant editor at Morgan Neville’s Tremolo Productions, working on such notable projects as STEVE! a two part documentary about beloved comedian and performer Steve Martin, as well as Piece by Piece, an animated LEGO documentary which chronicles the life of Grammy-Award winning music producer Pharrell Williams.

As an editor, he has edited numerous short films, including Neither Donkey, Nor Horse, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and won a Student Academy Award. He is currently finishing his first animated project, Chikaboom, from Academy Nicholl Award winning Writer-Director C. Craig Patterson.

Avo is also currently a 2025 Film Independent Project Involve Editing fellow and a proud member of the Motion Picture Editor’s Guild. (IATSE Local 700)
